Small business websites across Chicago and the suburbs
WordPress Chicago is the Chicago service of 45Squared, a Midwest web studio that has built WordPress sites since 2015. We design, build, move and host websites for small businesses in Chicago’s neighborhoods and the suburbs around them. Published prices are the same everywhere: managed hosting is $35 a month, and moving a site to WordPress starts at $1,500 with 30 days of support. New sites get a fixed quote after a short call. To start, send the form below with your business name and where you are.
Neighborhood searches work differently
In a city this size, “Chicago” is too broad to win. Customers add the neighborhood, and Google weighs distance when it ranks local results, alongside relevance and prominence. So name your neighborhood the way locals say it, in your headings and text. Officially it’s the Lake View community area, but most people type “Lakeview”. Say where you are in landmark terms too, such as near the Western Brown Line stop or off Southport. If you visit customers, list the neighborhoods you cover in your Google Business Profile’s service areas, and name the same ones on your site.
Lincoln Square, Lakeview and the North Side
North Side neighborhoods like Lincoln Square and Lakeview are dense, walkable and full of independent storefronts: cafes, restaurants, salons, studios, shops and clinics, often several of the same kind within a few blocks. Customers compare you with the place down the street on their phone. The site that wins shows current hours, a menu or service list, prices where you can, real photos and a booking or order button on every page. Google indexes the mobile version of a site, so the phone layout is the one that counts. Restaurants can see our restaurant website page.
Evanston, Skokie and Oak Park
Evanston, Skokie and Oak Park are their own cities and villages, and their residents search with those names, not “Chicago”. If you’re based in Evanston, lead with Evanston. If you serve both sides of the city line, say so plainly and list both in your service areas instead of building separate sites. Customers here tend to research carefully, so credentials, clear prices or a clear way to get a quote, and an easy booking form matter. Accessibility matters too, and every site we build is checked against WCAG 2.1 AA. See ADA website accessibility.
Schaumburg, Naperville and the wider suburbs
Further out, in Schaumburg, Naperville and the rest of the suburbs, more businesses are trades, professional firms and service companies that travel to customers. Their websites need one clear page per service, the towns they cover, photos of real jobs, reviews, and a short quote form that works on a phone and lands in the right inbox. Many already have a site on Wix, Squarespace or GoDaddy that’s become hard to grow. Moving it to WordPress takes about 48 hours and keeps your content and search rankings, with every old address redirected.
One studio, the same process everywhere
Every project follows the same path, wherever you are: a short video call about the business, a written fixed quote with the price and launch date, a build on a private preview link, and a launch once you approve every page. Then we train you to edit your own pages. You own the site, the domain and the logins. If something on your current site is broken rather than outdated, start with WordPress help and fixes. See pricing for what each published price includes.
Popular with neighborhood businesses
A custom WordPress site, mobile-first and fast, typically live in about a week.
Menus people can read on a phone, hours that are always right, and one tap to reserve or order.
A broken update, a form that stopped sending, a slow or hacked site. A person looks at it and quotes the fix first.

Common questions
Are you based in Chicago?
No. 45Squared is a Midwest studio, and we work with Chicago businesses remotely. Kickoffs and reviews happen by video call, and everything else happens by email. You get a private preview link, so you can check the site from your own desk or your counter between customers. Prices are the same in every neighborhood and suburb, and nobody pays for our office rent.
Should my website have a page for every neighborhood I serve?
Only where you have something different to say, such as a second location, a team based there, or real work you’ve done there. A stack of near-identical neighborhood pages helps nobody and can look like spam to search engines. One clear service-area section, plus the same neighborhoods listed in your Google Business Profile, usually works better and is easier to keep current.
My neighborhood isn't listed. Can you still help?
Yes. This page names the places we hear from most, but we work with businesses anywhere in Chicago and its suburbs, from Andersonville and Logan Square to Arlington Heights and Oak Brook, and remotely anywhere in the US. The process is the same everywhere. You get a short call, a written fixed quote, a build on a private preview link, and a launch once you approve every page.
